In addition to activities in the Danish community, the foundation also engages in activities in some of the countries where the VKR group operates. With this grant area, we aim to support a strong European community, where young Europeans are empowered to face future challenges.
The purpose is to support the transition of young Europeans into education and employment. We enhance the skills of the youth for the future job market and prepare young people to become capable citizens actively contributing to solving societal challenges, particularly in the areas of green and digital transformation. We pay special attention to ensuring that vulnerable youth also receive support to actively participate in society and become self-reliant citizens.
Typically, we support activities in selected countries over a longer period of time to ensure that our support is adaptive, sustainable, and creates the greatest possible systemic impact.
All applications for funding to Villum Foundation will be assessed by internationally recognized experts in a committee. This helps ensure that the grant activities of the foundation are carried out in a professional, sound and otherwise exemplary basis. The Working Group for Youth and education (EVI) also assists the board with strategy development and review and recommendations for decisions regarding applications and projects within the foundations’ grant areas and asset management.
