In the Western world, we spend the majority of our time indoors, even though it is well documented that fresh air and daylight benefit both body and mind.
The Villum Foundation supports innovative ideas and agenda-setting projects that contribute to breaking down the barriers between ‘indoors’ and ‘outdoors,’ fostering the shift of indoor activities to the outdoors for the joy and inspiration of others. This grant area encompasses two programmes:
Daylight and fresh air – calls for large and small projects
Every year and for a limited time, we open for applications under the call Daylight and fresh air.
We welcome both large and small project applications from all environments, including ordinary citizens, associations, volunteers, institutions and organisations within the construction sector.
Other projects
Under the Culture and society programme Other projects, you can apply for funding throughout the year for large cultural projects aimed at bringing benefit and joy to the general population. The foundation prioritises projects that have a strong focus on daylight and fresh air and contribute to a healthy environment.
The grant area is targeted at Danish projects. In a few relevant cases, projects abroad are also supported.
The Villum Foundation has established several working groups and committees to contribute to ensuring that the foundation’s distribution activities are conducted on a professionally sound and otherwise exemplary basis. The purpose of these working groups is to assist the board with strategy development and review and recommendations for decisions regarding applications and projects within the foundations’ grant areas and asset management.
