Assets
As the majority shareholder, Villum Foundation receives income from VKR Holding, which is the parent company of a number of companies, primarily within the skylight and facade window area, such as VELUX and DOVISTA A/S. In parallel with the foundation’s philanthropic purpose, the foundation therefore has an additional co-responsibility for “... ensuring the economic basis for the continued existence of VKR Holding and its affiliated companies on a sound commercial and financial basis”.
Villum Foundation’s assets amount to approximately DKK 12.2 billion, of which tied-up assets comprise approximately DKK 7.8 billion. The return on the tied-up assets and other income can be distributed for philanthropic purposes.
