Thanks to the 197 young researchers who have submitted applications to the VILLUM Young Investigator Programme.

Every year, the foundation supports particularly talented, young researchers in technical and natural science with the ambition of creating their own, independent research profiles.

The VILLUM Young Investigator Programme granted funds for the first time in 2012 and has since supported 111 young research talents.

This year we have received 197 applications for the programme. Applications have now been evaluated by the programme committee and the board of VILLUM FONDEN, who were very impressed with the generally high quality of the applications.

Next step: Interviews

Of the 197 applicants, 31 will be invited to participate in an interview with the programme committee. Interviews will be held on 20, 21 and 22 November 2017. Further information on the interviews will follow on 1 November 2017.

We expect that 15-20 VILLUM Young Investigators will receive a grant awarded by the board of VILLUM FONDEN on 21 December 2017.

The grants will be awarded on January 23 2018

The young researchers who receive a grant are celebrated at the Villum Kann Rasmussen Annual Award in Science and Technology on 23 January 2018 in the Black Diamond - The Royal Danish Library.

If you receive a rejection

Applicants who are not invited to interviews in November will receive a standard letter of rejection per e-mail but will be given the opportunity to call Michel M. H. Kristensen, Head of Programme, on +45 2941 7889 after 7 November 2017 for a brief evaluation of the submitted application.

We appreciate the amount of time all applicants have invested in their application to VILLUM FONDEN.
