Supply Chain Management of Alternative Marine Fuels
Project description
Ships are a major source of air pollution, but also the backbone of global trade by carrying 80% of the global transport goods by volume. The transition towards alternative fuels represents a critical point in the quest for sustainable shipping practices. Research within the green fuel market is just starting to emerge while there is a pressing need to industrialize and scale up the production and supply chain to make green fuels a viable and cost-effective alternative. While research on the technical and economic aspects of green marine fuels is ongoing, their supply chain management remains a nascent area. This project will bridge this gap and pave the way for a smooth transition to greener shipping by providing solution to ensure that green fuels are safe to use and can be supplied consistently to ports around the world, making it easier for ships to refuel and use these eco-friendly options.
