Project description

Key question: How to produce ammonia (NH3) via a sustainable and environmentally friendly route, instead of the incumbent energy- and carbon-intensive Haber–Bosch process?

Key result: Development and proof-of-concept of a novel electrochemical reactor for one-step synthesis of green ammonia with high efficiency using purely renewable resources.

Key impact: Implementation of this highly innovative and efficient technology will ensure a significant reduction of the global fossil fuel consumption and CO2 emission, facilitates integration of renewable energy, and accelerates the transition towards a future sustainable and low-carbon society.
