VILLUM FONDEN and VELUX FONDEN have hired Fredrik Skoglund as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) following Per Skovsted's choice to retire after many years of unique efforts in the same role.

As CIO of the foundations, Fredrik will have the overall responsibility for the asset management of the foundations, ensuring the highest possible risk-adjusted yield, thus enabling the foundations to allocate as many financial resources as possible for philanthropic purposes. In addition, Fredrik will hold the responsibility for the implementation of the foundations' strategy for responsible investments, based on the conviction that the foundations' investment profile should also contribute to the public benefit in society.

Fredrik Skoglund comes from a position as Group CIO in Banque Internationale á Luxembourg and a responsibility for investing approx. EUR 40 billion in equities, fixed income, real assets & alternatives, and discretionary portfolio mandates. He has a degree in International Business from North Park University, Chicago, where he also studied an MBA. Fredrik is Swedish but Danish married and lives in Hørsholm.

Fredrik will start no later than 1 August 2022.
