Climate Change, Marine Protected Areas, Sustainable Fisheries, and Maritime Spatial Planning. These are the topics of a symposium held by VILLUM FONDEN and VELUX FONDEN focusing on a Danish marine environment in balance.

On November 9, 2017, VILLUM FONDEN and VELUX FONDEN have invited researchers across research fields and stakeholders across different interests for inspiration and debate about a sustainable balance between use and protection of marine resources. The symposium is open to all.

Danish and European introductory speakers will provide insight, knowledge, and inspiration from four overall themes:

Climate Change, Marine Protected Areas, Sustainable Fisheries, and Maritime Spatial Planning.

KEY CONTRIBUTORS: David Johnson (Seascape Consultants), Kirsten Isensee (UNESCO), Katherine Richardson (University of Copenhagen), Griffin Carpenter (New Economics Foundation), Lasse Gustavsson (Oceana Europe), Bo Riemann (Aarhus University), Marianne Holmer (University of Southern Denmark), Cecilie Mauritzen (NIVA), Marie-Louise Krawack (The Danish Environmental Protection Authority) and others.
