Thomas Bjørnholm is new Director of Science

VILLUM FONDEN has employed Thomas Bjørnholm as Director of VILLUM FONDEN's grant area for research within the technical and natural sciences.
Thomas Bjørnholm will join VILLUM FONDEN as Director of Science on March 1, 2018. He comes from a previous position as Prorector for Research and Innovation at the University of Copenhagen.
Thomas Bjørnholm will further develop VILLUM FONDEN's research programmes within the technical and natural sciences, which today includes three programmes: VILLUM Investigator, VILLUM Young Investigator and VILLUM Experiment.
Thomas Bjørnholm is a professor of Materials Chemistry and has previously been head of the Nano-Science Center at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Copenhagen.
Facts
Thomas Bjørnholm was born in 1960. In 1990, he received his PhD in Materials Chemistry from the University of Copenhagen. He has received numerous research awards, including the Ole Rømer Foundation Award, the Ellen & Niels Bjerrum Award as well as a gold medal and the Director Ib Henriksen Award.
