Project description

The aim of this research project is to improve patient safety within ophthalmology by:

  1. Providing assessment tools for highly demanding procedures, such as macular surgery, to track performance improvement.
  2. Investigating Best Practices for virtual reality simulation training to improve it's effect and to utilize scarce resources most efficiently.
  3. Studying the effect of simulation-based training on a population level using innovative and state-of-the-art virtual-reality simulators.

The project is carried out in close collaboration with the NGO HelpMeSee, enabling the results to be utilized in connection with HelpMeSee's training of eye surgeons in low and middle income countries.
